The last few weeks have been dramatic as the coronavirus outbreak tests us in many ways, and will continue to do so for some time to come. BDL is doing our part to help slow down the spread of the virus, by canceling all library programs through Saturday April 25. We will evaluate the situation for programming after that date and let you know at https://www.BranchDistrictLibrary.org/coronavirus.
For now, the library is staying open regular hours, staffing permitting. But please continue to check this page for updates, and follow us on Facebook or sign up for text alerts of closings from WWMT.
If you are sick, please do your part to help by staying home. BDL patrons have free online access to thousands of great digital books, videos, music, and more through Hoopla and OverDrive, and we encourage you to use these services right from your home. Call the library if you need help getting started with these great services.
If you do come in to the library, know that we have instituted a regular sanitizing schedule throughout the day of surfaces, computers, door handles, buttons, and some library materials. We have worked with our janitorial providers to ensure additional daily disinfections as well. Certain children's items that are hard to sanitize have been removed temporarily, along with some touchscreen devices. Furniture and computer labs have been rearranged to aid in keeping the minimum recommended distances between people.
This is a rapidly changing situation. We will continue to keep you updated about our response as the outbreak evolves.
Thank you for your understanding, and stay safe and healthy.
