Community Calendar

Overview

The Branch District Library (BDL) sponsors this Community Calendar on the LocalHop platform as a public service to provide information about events of interest to the residents of the BDL service area (Branch County and Allen Twp. of Hillsdale County).

The Community Calendar may be used by non-profit civic, social, charitable, fraternal, religious, governmental, or educational organizations that are based in the BDL service area to post about their events and meetings.

This calendar is free to post to, and you control the posting of your events. The library does not vet or approve events before you post them.

You can easily embed the calendar widgets onto your own website so that your audience can see the community calendar. The widget is mobile friendly, or visitors can download the LocalHop app from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.

Getting Started

1. Print and sign the policy acknowledgement form and return it to the library or email it to info@BranchDistrictLibrary.org.

2. 

   Send a message to the LocalHop team using the contact form at the bottom of this page. You'll need to give them your name, email, the physical address of your organization, and then just tell them you'd like to sign up for an account so your organization can post to Branch District Library's community calendar.
3. Within 48 hours, LocalHop will send you login credentials.
4. After the library approves your account, you can start posting and add your own team members.

6. You can direct people to this calendar using www.BranchDistrictLibrary.org/CC or www.BranchDistrictLibrary.org/CommunityCalendar (capitalization doesn't matter).
7. Or, paste one the code snippets below into your website to embed your preferred widget. Note that these widgets are not customizable.
   • Full Calendar
     Full page calendar widget with the ability to view events by month, week, day, or list. Full event details page included.

     Small calendar widget that includes month and events display. Responsive list or panel view depending on where you place your widget. Each even links to an event details overlay.
