Effective Monday, November 16, 2020, the Branch District Library will be moving back to Stage 4 of our COVID-19 Response Plan. This means that all BDL branches will be returning to only curbside delivery of library materials and services until further notice.

The library is limiting access to our buildings due to concern about the recent increase in numbers of COVID-19 cases in Branch County and for the safety of the public and library employees.

"Most of our libraries around the county are operated by small teams," said John Rucker, Library Director. “Following CDC guidance for quarantining has led to staffing shortages at 4 of our 6 locations in the past week alone. Two branches in the past week have had to be unexpectedly closed as a result. Since we can offer curbside service using fewer staff, moving to curbside for a time will allow us to continue to offer library services at all locations even if increasing numbers of staff are quarantined."

All library branches will be open for curbside service daily on our normal operating schedule. See www.BranchDistrictLibrary.org/hours for details and phone numbers.

BDL patrons will be able to reserve library materials, either by phone or through our library catalog, and library staff will bring materials out to our parking lots to be delivered. Bikers and walkers are welcome, too! We will also be offering curbside service for printing/copying, faxing, and more. Just call your branch for details.

Library Wi-Fi is on 24/7 at all branches, and don't forget our full slate of digital services that you can enjoy right from home: books, movies, magazines, and more. Visit www.BranchDistrictLibrary.org to get started.

The library will continue to evaluate the situation and looks forward to opening our doors back to the public again as soon as it is feasible to do so. In the meantime, we thank everyone for their patience and understanding.
