Book Clubs

Branch District Library has book clubs for a variety of ages to enjoy! With several clubs to join, book lovers can chat with each other about what they’re reading, and best of all: there is something for everyone! New members are always welcomed!

• Book Lovers R' Us at the Bronson Branch: This untraditional Book Club will not have a set list of titles to read. Come for coffee and donuts and share what book/books you read last month. Loved it, hated it, recommend it? This club meets monthly on the 1st Monday of the month at 10:15 am.
   
• Classics Book Club at the Coldwater Branch: Do you enjoy reading juvenile classic novels? Well this is the book club for you! Each month we will read a different classic novel and join together to chat about the book in a non-traditional book club setting! This is a book club for all ages. Meetings will take place on the second Tuesday of the month at 4:00 pm.
  • The December title is The Vanderbeekers of 141st Street by Karina Yan Glaser. 
  • The January title is Holes by Louis Sachar. 
  • The February title is Hatchet by Gary Paulsen. 
     
• Murder Mystery Book Club at the Coldwater Branch: If you enjoy murder mystery books, join this club for great discussions and snacks! This book club is for adults and meets the first Monday of the month at 5:30. 
  • The December title is Dead and Gondola by Ann Claire.
  • The January title is The Twyford Code by Janice Hallett. 
  • The February title is We Solve Murders by Richard Osman. 
      
• Romance Book Club: Do you like Spicy 🌶️🌶️ Romance books? Are you a fan of grumpy/sunshine, second chance romance, forced proximity, Enemies to lovers and opposites attract tropes? Then you will love our Romance Book Club!  Come out and enjoy a good book, with a guaranteed happily ever after with good company! Starting December 2024, this club meets at the Trainwreck Grill & Ale House at 4:00 pm, the 2nd Tuesday of every month.
  • The December title is Lovelight Farms by B.K. Borison. 
  • The January title is Birding with Benefits by Sarah T. Dubb.  (COMING SOON)
  • The February title is Ne'er Duke Well by Alexandra Vasti. (COMING SOON)
     
• Books On Tap Book Club: This fiction/non-fiction book club explores a diverse array of literature! This club will meet monthly on the fourth Wednesday at Trainwreck Grill & Ale House at 6:00 pm. 
  • The January title is The Frozen River by Ariel Lawhon. 
  • The February title is The Violin Conspiracy by Brendan Slocumb. 
     
• Book Club at the Union Twp. Branch: A monthly gathering of adults for book discussions. The last meeting will be on Wednesday, December 18, at 4:00 pm. 
  • The December title is The Echo of Old Books by Barbara Davis. 
     
• No Pressure Book Club at the Union Twp. Branch: Connect with others for book recommendations and share what you are currently reading. Kicking off in January 2025, this club will meet on the third Tuesday of the month at 4:00 pm.

Copies of the books are available at Branch District Library, and may be available online from our digital library providers Hoopla or Libby. Additional copies of titles can be requested from the statewide lending system, MeL.org. Please allow 7-10 days for your request to be delivered to the library.
