On August 17, Branch District Library held a special celebration at the Coldwater Branch for young children in Branch County. They had completed the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten challenge. Graduates received a certificate, a special stuffed animal, and a special book sending them off to school.
Multiple young readers and their caregivers finished by reading 1000 books before they started Kindergarten. Reading to your children is the best way to prepare future students. The program encourages families to spend time together. It promotes pre-literacy skills so children start school ready to read and learn.
