A StoryWalk is a fun activity that engages families in literacy and getting active. Pages from a children’s book are printed and placed in displays along the sidewalk across from the Coldwater Recreation Center. The first book selected is "We Laugh Alike / Juntos nos reímos: A Story That's Part Spanish, Part English, and a Whole Lot of Fun" by Carmen T. Bernier-Grand with illustrations by Alyssa Bermudez. The book takes readers to a playground where friends who speak English and Spanish are coming together to play.
The StoryWalk Project was created by Anne Ferguson and developed with the help of Rachel Senechal, formerly of the Kellogg-Hubbard Library in Vermont StoryWalk® projects have been installed in all 50 states and even internationally.
This project would not be possible without the support of the Kiwanis Club of Coldwater, Kiwanis Childrens Fund, Branch County Great Start, and Apex Clean Energy! Thank you for investing in the literacy of our community.
