September is Library Card Sign-up Month, a time when Branch District Library joins the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries nationwide to remind everyone about the valuable resources available with a library card.
From borrowing books, ebooks, and audiobooks to getting homework help, learning new skills, or attending a book club or story time, a library card helps everyone do more of what they enjoy. All without stretching their budget. Join a free program and spark your creativity! Interested in trying a new hobby? Branch District Library offers more than just books with our Library of Things Collection. It is a collection of non-traditional materials including gadgets, tools, games, kits, electronics, and more — all available to check out for free with a library card. A library card is your most important school supply—it's elemental, really—and everyone should have one!
Visit your library to see what's new and take part in the celebration. During the month of September we are offering a special BINGO card. Complete one BINGO for a chance to get entered into a drawing for one of there book bundles including a $50 gift card. Do you have friends who don't have a library card? Children's Library Cards
Since 1987, Library Card Sign-up Month has been held each September to mark the beginning of the school year. During the month, the ALA and libraries unite together in a national effort to ensure every child signs up for their own library card. We invite those ages birth to teen to explore their library.
Children can now get their very own library card designed just for them! This whimsical forest design was released just in time for Library Card Sign-up Month!
There is nothing more empowering than signing up for your own library card. Through access to technology, media resources and educational programs, a library card gives children a head start on literacy skills before they even reach the classroom.
Need a Replacement Card?
We want all patrons of all ages to get in the habit of carrying their library card. Any patron can get one free replacement in a twelve-month period. If your card is falling apart, damaged, or you just can’t find it, stop in and get a new one for free.
