By Lynnell Eash, Bronson Branch Manager The Branch District Library System will again be participating in the “One Book One County” series. This year the book "How The Garcia Girls Lost Their Accents" by Julia Alvarez has been chosen. This is a story about four sisters from the Dominican Republic who emigrated to the United States. Book discussions are planned at all the branches during the month of March so stop by or check The Branch District web site for details at testing.branchdistrictlibrary.org. Here in Bronson the dates will be March 7th, 6:00-7:00 PM.

By Lynnell Eash, Bronson Branch Manager This past week we had a mother stop by the library and she said her young daughter brought her library schedule home and pointed out that there are no story times planned for six and seven year olds! Well our face is red and we would like to tell Christy and all the other six and seven year olds out there that when the March through May schedule comes out you will have story times and maybe a few other programs that will include your age group.

By Lynnell Eash, Bronson Branch Manager We had a fun movie day last Friday, with 40 people attending the show. Our next movie will be February 16th when we hold a Pajama Party and show the movie "Open Season". The movie will be from 6:00-8:00 PM and children may wear their pajamas, bring a blanket, pillow and their favorite stuffed critter. We will have popcorn and something to drink. Call the library to register for this program.

By Lynnell Eash, Bronson Branch Manager The American Girl Club gathered last Friday for the first meeting of 2007. Nine girls attended and learned about Kit, a girl who grew up during the years of the Depression. As the girls worked on sewing Scottie dog pillows, they heard a few stories and facts from the Kit books. They learned about feed sack clothes, taking in boarders and how people learned to get by with very little. Next month we will be celebrating Valentines day.

By Lynnell Eash, Bronson Library Manager 2006 was a great year at your library and we wish to thank all the many who have helped make this possible including the City of Bronson, Bronson Township, the many businesses and organizations and all the folks that have given us their support and encouragement. We will work hard to make 2007 another banner year. "Saddle up and read, Bookaroo!" This is the theme of the Bronson Library Winter Reading Club for children up through kindergarten.
