Digitial TV Changeover

Branch:
District

On February 17, 2009, standard broadcast television signals in the United States will end, and TV sets that rely on an antenna will no longer receive signals.

How can you be sure you’re not left without television?
The answer to this question depends on a few things. Some people need to purchase a DTV converter box in order to continue watching broadcast television, many people don’t need to do anything at all.

Young Adults are Biggest Users of Libraries

Branch:
District

In a new survey done by the Pew Internet and American Life Project, slightly more than half of American adults said they had visited a library at least once in the past year. Surprising to some was the fact that the largest group of library users was those aged 18-30. This so-called 'Generation Y' cited computers and Internet access as the primary reason they visited the library.

The Library is happy to announce that we are now participating in the Michigan eLibrary Catalog (MeLCat). MeLCat is a state-wide shared catalog where you can search the holdings of all participating libraries throughout Michigan and place your own requests for items you can't find in our library. Start searching right now at http://elibrary.mel.org/search.

You can also see what items you've requested on the MeL pages: https://elibrary.mel.org/patroninfo.

If an item you are looking for is not in MeLCat, we can still try to get it for you. Please ask for assistance at any service desk, call the Reference Desk at the Main Branch in Coldwater (517-278-2341, ext. 17), or use our online form.
