Libraries strengthen their communities: celebrate National Library Week April 7-13

This week Branch District Library joins libraries of all types in celebrating the many ways libraries build strong communities by providing critical resources, programs, and expertise.

April 7-13, 2019 is National Library Week, an annual celebration highlighting the valuable role libraries, librarians, and library workers play in transforming lives and communities. Libraries are at the heart of their cities and towns. They have public spaces where people of all backgrounds can come together and connect.

At Branch District Library we continue to transform-  offering digital library services with Hoopla, Libby, language learning with Mango, and genealogy research with Ancestry Library Edition at our library branches. Creative programming includes highlighting early literacy with robust storytimes, homeschool groups, author talks, after school activities, and events specifically designed for Teens and Adults. There is always something going on and for full event listings, please visit our library website.

First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a nationally observed event, recognized by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country each April.
