The votes are in and the winner of the Teens' Top Ten is Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer. More than 8,000 teens from across the nation voted during Teen Read Week for their favorite teen books. Our Teen Club here in Bronson participated by casting their votes during the Halloween party and several of our teens picked Eclipse as their favorite book too. The list of top ten are as follows: Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K.

Teen Read Week is celebrated October 12-18 this year and the theme is "Books With Bite". Teens, stop in the library for a YALSA list, see how many of the twenty-five titles you have read and then go on-line to vote for your favorite three. In April the Young Adult Library Services Association will announce the top 10 teen books that were voted for by teens from all over the U.S.A. The Bronson Teen Club will meet on Friday October 17 for a Halloween Party with movie and food. This club is for ages 12-16 and will be held from 5:30 - 8:00 p.m.

ellie raccoon (Small)During the month of September the library is participating in the Michigan Reads to Children program. This year the book "Raccoon Tune" by Nancy Shaw will be read at each session of Friday Tales. There will be other stories about raccoons along with finger plays, coloring sheets and much more.

Do you have a library card for the Branch District Library System? September is Library Card Sign-up Month.  If you live in or own property in Branch County you are eligible for a free library card. Go to your local library branch with proof of your current address, fill out a registration card and become a proud library card holder! Children under 18 please bring your parents to register you. Having a library card entitles you to FREE check out of books, movies, magazines, and audio books and the use of the MeLCat system (Michigan Electronic Library Catalog) .

Author Larry Massie will be presenting a program on Saturday morning August 30 at 10:00 a.m.  Through storytelling Mr. Massie shares his passion for his beloved state's heritage. The Branch District Library System has several books written by Mr Massie ready for check out so if you would like to read "On the Road To Michigan's Past", "Pig Boats and River Hogs" or "Birchbark Belles" before the Saturday program please stop by the Bronson Library and check out one of Mr Massie's many books.
